Message from the Head of School

Welcome to Westwood International School. Westwood is located in Gaborone and it is the only fully accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) School in Botswana. 

Westwood offers the IB Primary Programme (PYP) for Reception to Level 6; the IB Diploma Programme (DP) in levels 12 and 13; and is currently phasing in the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) at levels 7, 8, & 9. We also offer the International General Certificate of School Education (IGCSE) at levels 10 & 11. We are accredited with the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Thirty-five languages are spoken as a Mother Tongue at WIS and staff represents 15 different countries from across the world. Our aim is to provide quality teaching and learning and a seamless transition to other international schools for our internationally mobile families.
